The cozy, large living room has a working fireplace (for wood or peat fire) and a fascinating sea view. The living room is equipped with a modern flat screen TV (including European channels!) and a DVD. In the small library you will find a selection of books and DVDs in various languages, as well as board games and playing cards. Or you can simply enjoy an Irish whiskey from our small Irish whiskey collection in the comfortable original Chesterfield ………. or in the light-flooded conservatory.
All three double-bedrooms have an unobstructed sea view over the whole of Donegal Bay, the sandy beach of Rossnowlagh, Slieve League and the Blue Stack Mountains. Each bedroom has the original, high stucco ceiling and the original Georgian fireplace, which – however - had to be sealed for safety reasons. Each room has an en-suite bathroom. We heat with a newly installed, climate-friendly central heating system (pellet heating). In each room there is a TV with an integrated DVD player (we have various European channels at your disposal!). The windows are new and double-glazed, but the original style of the "Georgian Sash windows" has been retained, as well as the old, charming Georgian wooden shutters.
The Dining-room has a well functioning fireplace and an antique extendable Georgian Mahogany Dining table with the corresponding antique dining chairs. The table can be extended gradually from 4 to 12 seatings. There is still the original 200 year old flagstone floor, which – however – is covered with an antique silk Persian Carpet. The elegant Dining-room leads through a light flooded glassdoor into the Conservatory.
The cosy and pleasant Country Kitchen is somehow the heart of Coolmore House. It has – besides all new mod cons e.g. big rangemaster cooker with two ovens, microwave, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee maker - a big old stove and a long old oak kitchen-table where you can easily seat 8 to 10 persons. The kitchen still has the original flagstone floors and a door to the courtyard.
